Use the instructions on this page when you need to fabricate a project that is subject to export controls as dictated by the US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security.

Export Information
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)


ITAR FLOW

  1. Determine if your project is subject to ITAR regulations, as laid out by the Bureau of Industry and Security and your responses to the ECCN (Export) Questionnaire.
  2. Send a request for custom quote.
  3. Design your project in an ITAR compliant process.
  4. Notify MOSIS of your ITAR coordinator and technical personnel contact information by e-mail to support@mosis.com. Your ITAR coordinator is usually the person in your organization responsible for security clearances. MOSIS must receive and record this information before you can proceed any further.
  5. Specify ITAR in your New Project request. MOSIS will reject your request if we have not received and logged your organization's ITAR contact details as per step 4.
  6. In the Special Handling field of the Update or Fabricate request form, please provide a description of your design including information about its application which makes it ITAR. Also, please submit the appropriate sections of the ECCN (Export) Questionnaire. A design number (assigned in step 5) is required to do this.
  7. Send a Purchase Order which includes ITAR specific information.
  8. Send your layout in an ITAR-compliant fashion (not by unsecured FTP)

PURCHASE ORDERS

All purchase orders to MOSIS for items regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) must include the following information in the body of the purchase order. Although you provided some of this information to MOSIS under separate cover, it must also appear in the purchase order.

1. MOSIS Design ID (if a design ID has been assigned)

2. Include the following contact information for your organization's ITAR Coordinator. Your ITAR coordinator is usually the person in your organization responsible for security clearances.

3. Include the following contact information on the technical personnel at your organization who have been authorized by your official ITAR coordinator to received ITAR restricted technical data such as design layout files, design check data that includes portions of the design file, and any other technical data regulated by ITAR export control.

4. The address in the Ship-To field of the purchase order must be an address approved by your organization's ITAR coordinator. There cannot be a different shipping address in the body of the purchase order. If you are unable to meet this requirement please contact mosis-customer-orders@mosis.com.


IMPORTANT NOTES

Currently, all of the IBM Processes are ITAR compliant.

There is an additional handling charge. To receive a quote, please submit the Custom Price Quote Request Form. Be sure to declare ITAR where asked.

MOSIS will not accept a New Project request nor layout for ITAR regulated designs until contact information for your organization's ITAR coordinator and technical personnel has been communicated to MOSIS. Send your ITAR contact information to MOSIS by e-mail to support@mosis.com.
