Academic Institutions
Before you can access vendor rules or submit a design to MOSIS, you must have an account. MOSIS does not charge a set-up fee to establish an account.

MOSIS offers three types of accounts to academic institutions, one commercial and two MOSIS Educational Program (MEP) accounts: MEP Instructional, and MEP Research. To work with MOSIS, you must have an account. MOSIS does not charge a set-up fee to establish an account. Only faculty members can request an account.
Commercial Account
Academic institutions, governmental agencies, and companies who pre-pay or submit a purchase order for fabrication of their designs need to apply for a MOSIS Commercial Account. This includes academic institutions whose projects do not qualify for the MOSIS Educational Program (MEP).
MOSIS Educational Program Accounts (MEP)
The MOSIS Educational Program (MEP) consists of two divisions: (1) an INSTRUCTIONAL program, and (2) a RESEARCH program.
MOSIS does not receive funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) or any other government agency. MOSIS sole source of revenue is derived from its commercial operations. Projects designed by universities that are subsidized by other entities are not considered part of the MOSIS Educational Program (MEP).
Instructional Program
The MOSIS Instructional program provides free fabrication of integrated circuits designed by students in organized classes associated with an accredited university.
Research Program
The MOSIS Research program offers university-affiliated researchers fabrication of a design that has no source of funding and otherwise would not be fabricated; as thesis work, research projects, and individually directed study.
