MOSIS Die ID Implementation
Allowing MOSIS to create an internal die ID
MOSIS is now supporting an internal die identification option on all MOSIS IBM MPW runs. Internal labeling will result in a net reduction of 30 µm in the Y dimension. This is accomplished by eliminating the 30 µm overhead MOSIS currently adds to the top of customer layout as submitted for die labeling on MPW runs.
To qualify for internal labeling, a project must have a standard LOGOBND region in the upper right hand corner of the layout (as produced by the standard IBM p-cell), it must not have any layout on the top metal level, and LOGOBND needs to be at least 84 µm x 75 µm. MOSIS will then place the fabrication id in this LOGOBND region.
