IBM Design Rules, Process Specifications, SPICE Parameters, and Cell
Libraries
IBM's design rules, SPICE parameters, Cadence design kit, and Agilent
ADS models are available from MOSIS. ADS support for IBM is
RFDE/Dynamic-Link, and can only be used together with the IBM Cadence
design environment. SPICE parameters may be used as design
references, but no quantity derived from a simulation should be
treated as a manufacturing tolerance. IBM considers these items to be
proprietary and only authorizes MOSIS to distribute them to customers
who have established MOSIS commercial accounts and who have signed the
MOSIS Customer Agreement, which includes the following terms in
Section 6C:
EACH PARTY SPECIFICALLY AGREES THAT IT SHALL NOT DISCLOSE ANY MATERIAL
WHICH MAY BE CONSIDERED PROPRIETARY OR CONFIDENTIAL MATERIAL OF THE
OTHER PARTY OR OF ANY VENDORS TO ANY THIRD PARTIES. PROPRIETARY
MATERIAL SHALL INCLUDE BUT SHALL NOT BE LIMITED TO, PROPRIETARY VENDOR
INFORMATION SUCH AS YIELD AND PARAMETRIC DATA, WHETHER IT WAS PROVIDED
TO CUSTOMERS OR EXTRACTED BY THEM. EACH PARTY AGREES THAT IT SHALL BE
PRECLUDED BY 18 U.S.C. 1905 AND ANY AND ALL OTHER APPROPRIATE LAWS AND
REGULATIONS FROM KNOWINGLY DIVULGING THE TRADE SECRETS OF THE OTHER
PARTY, AND/OR ANY THIRD-PARTY VENDOR.
Procedures
-
To obtain any of these items you must have an account with MOSIS. To
open or re-activate a commercial account with MOSIS, complete and send
the Commercial Account
Application along with all appropriate signed agreements. Please
read the instructions carefully before submitting the application
package.
-
Submit online the appropriate survey form(s)
-
Execute the appropriate confidentiality agreement (CDA)
The CDA covers the design information disclosed by the customer to
MOSIS. Customer signs as "Discloser."
If you already have the design kit from IBM, the CDA is still needed.
-
Execute the design kit license agreement (DKLA)
The DKLA covers the IBM design kit provided by MOSIS to the customer.
Customer signs as "Recipient."
If you already have the design kit from IBM, the DKLA is not needed.
Special instructions for academic institutions
Academic institutions must also provide the
Academic Account Document Access Application, in additional to the
Request Form, the DKLA, and the CDA. The Academic Account Document
Access Application contains the following:
-
Account Information
-
Fabrication Plan
-
Account Liaison NDA
-
List of students, staff, and other faculty that have signed the
individual NDA.
Additionally, a Mini-Proposal
may be requested of the academic institution.
Cell Libraries
To access the ARM (was Artisan) standard cell libraries, pads, and memory
generators (7RF, 8RF, and 9LP processes), users must request access
via the CMOS survey form above. The request will be reviewed and
when approved, non-academic users can register for the
libraries at the
ARM web site.
Limited digital support libraries from IBM are available for the 5HP,
5AM, 5DM, 6HP, 6RF, 7HP, 7WL, 8HP, and 8WL processes via the MOSIS
secure document server, after design kit access has been granted.
