How To Apply For A Fabrication Subsidy
INTRODUCTION
Designs in the MEP RESEARCH program may be for research projects,
thesis work, or individually directed study. Work under MEP Research
accounts result in a journal article, paper, or thesis; may be ongoing
beyond the end of a single semester, and is usually
supervised/directed research without the controls of a specific
curriculum.
MEP-Research projects are fabricated on regularly scheduled
multi-project wafer runs on a space-available basis. Commercial
projects have priority on these wafer runs. When commercial projects
completely fill the reticle on the run you select, then any
MEP-Research projects queued for that run will not be fabricated on
that run. MEP Research designs that are not fabricated on your
selected run will stay in the fabrication queue and will be
considered, on a space-available basis, for the next scheduled run of
the same technology.

ITEMS INCLUDED IN APPLICATION PACKAGE
Please read the instruction carefully before submitting your
application package. Missing or incomplete documents will impede the
review process.
Commercial Agreement
You only need to provide this once. Each institution needs to
establish an account by submitting a MOSIS customer agreement.
MEP Research Application
Provide administrative and technical contact information, and
fabrication plan. A student may not be the primary contact for
an account.
Background And Qualifications Of Professor
Provide enough background and qualification material (as, curriculum
vita, teaching history, list of publications and previous research
projects) to document the professor's ability to take on the research
being proposed
Vendor Document Access
Additional agreements are required for access to proprietary vendor

MEP Research
Proposals and Dean's written certification are not part of
the application package. They can be submitted only after your
account has been established and your faculty account liaison has
received the account number and password from MOSIS.
