CRC Checksum

The CRC checksum, expressed as a pair of numbers (separated by white space), is used to verify that your file was transferred correctly to MOSIS.

To calculate the CRC checksum, run the MOSIS CRC Checksum program on your original CIF or GDS file before running any compression or encryption utility.

This program is available as C source code (mosiscrc.c) or as a Windows executable (mosiscrc.exe).

You must download and install the program. You cannot run the program from the MOSIS web site.

Specify either the "-b" switch (for a binary file, such as GDS) or the "-t" switch (for a text file, such as CIF), followed by a space character and the name of the file whose checksum is to be computed. The program will return with a display of two numbers: the checksum and the count. Have these numbers available when you are ready to send the layout and Fabricate Request web form.

If you need more help, use the "-h" switch.

After you have obtained the checksum, you can compress or encrypt your layout file.
