The allowed compression types are those supported by the GNU "gunzip" program (gzip, pkzip, compress and pack). The server will not accept a file compressed by any other utility. If the file is encrypted, it must be encrypted using PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) using MOSIS' public key. If you encrypt the file using PGP, do NOT compress it first (PGP will automatically compress it before encrypting it) and do not add ASCII armor around it.
