AMS Rules
How to obtain austriamicrosystems (AMS) Design Rules and Technology Files through MOSIS.

Design Rules, Process Specifications, SPICE Parameters, and Technology Files
austriamicrosystems' design rules, process specifications, and SPICE corner parameters are available from MOSIS. SPICE parameters may be used as design references, but no quantity derived from a simulation should be treated as a manufacturing tolerance. austriamicrosystems considers their design rules, process specifications, and SPICE corner parameters to be proprietary.
An online description of the contents of the HIT-Kits is available from austriamicrosystems.
- To obtain them through MOSIS, you must have a commercial account with MOSIS. Current MOSIS commercial account holders can start on step 2.
- Execute the following agreements:
- Two copies of each agreement, all with original signatures should be sent to:
MOSIS
Attn: New Account Manager
4676 Admiralty Way
7th Floor
Marina del Rey CA 90292-6695 - MOSIS will deliver them to austriamicrosystems.
- austriamicrosystems will then countersign and return to you a fully executed set. Your copy of the countersigned CDA will contain a unique Confidentiality Agreement (CA) number on the bottom left corner on the last page. You will need this CA number for the next step (online registration).
- Upon receipt from austriamicrosystems of a Confidentiality Agreement (CA) number, complete the austriamicrosystems online registration form.
- After you register online, send a message to the Customer Support and Inquiry System that you have done so. Be sure to indicate your choice of either the Cadence Hit-Kit or the Mentor Hit-Kit, and whether or not you will use Calibre for verification. We will then enable your account to generate Hit-Kit licenses. If you have completed the online registration, you should be able to download from austriamicrosystems.
- The Hit-Kit installation requires an installation key. Return to the ASIC web site, and select License File Generation. You will be prompted for your user name and password. Use your austriamicrosystems user name and password, not your MOSIS user name and password.
Updates and patches are available from the austriamicrosystems web site.
Access to the austriamicrosystems technical web server ASIC and the HitKit from MOSIS will be enabled only after you complete the austriamicrosystems online registration form.
Special Instructions For Academic Institutions
The DVDs do not have pcell support already included. When universities request them, MOSIS will enable them for mixed-signal access and ftp them the pcells directories. The university then install these directories and regenerates licenses to obtain mixed-signal licenses. This does not apply for non-universities.
Academic institutions must also provide the Academic Account Document Access Application, in additional to the forms and agreements described above. The Academic Account Document Access Application contains the following:
- Account Information
- Fabrication Plan
- Account Liaison NDA
- List of students, staff, and other faculty that have signed the individual NDA.
Additionally, a Mini-Proposal may be requested of the academic institution.
