Support For Radiation Hardened Applications
MOSIS customers who are interested in the radiation hardness of the Peregrine SOS process should read carefully the following 'Limitation of Use Agreement' provided by Peregrine Semiconductor.
The silicon on sapphire process offered by MOSIS is NOT authorized for use in radiation hardened space or military applications without the express written approval of the president of Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation
As used herein:

Radiation hardened applications include any hardware expected to be used in an environment requiring the part to withstand external radiation.

Satellite applications include any application expected to be flown in space.

Military systems are any application for use in a weapon or weapon system.
A modified silicon on sapphire technology is offered directly by the supplier for these applications.
